| So apparently I have to make a post or this site will go away. Post.
There I posted.

| I've been noticing that I don't get many notifications of people updating on Xanga anymore? Is Facebook just that much more popular? Huh....
Oh well. I guess I'll just make a post since I'm here already.
So.... if you don't know, I'm on co-op once again... at Thomson West... in the ALD department... again. This isn't a bad thing by any means. In fact, it's quite more eventful than last time I was there as I'm working on a different project, yay!
Getting the co-op was kind of a 'duh' thing. There were about 5 openings for co-ops at Thomson, I applied to all of them... they all interviewed me. I looked at the ALD listing and knew right away that if I applied I would not only get the interview, but probably land the co-op as well. I wasn't wrong. The interview with ALD was really laid-back. It was really more of a discussion about my experiences from last time and feedback from that, and whether I thought I could handle twice the workload from last time. The interview was on friday... I was offered the position the following monday.
I suppose I could go on about current events... but I'm so tired about being frustrated with the state of the world and the general populace that I really just don't have the energy for it. It's not like it's really something that's that surprising or unexpected, but it's still frustrating. I guess it's even more frustrating when you see people failing around you, when you see them take stances that are made on ignorance and will only lead to 'very bad things' that they would actually be against but are blinded by our enemies(and I'm not talking about America's enemies, I'm talking about our enemies as Christians.). I guess that's just how the world is right now....
And to leave it all on a depressing note: I guess it doesn't really matter much, as this country is not going to remain a super-power for much longer and very likely not even a safe place for Christians anymore. We will bear witness to the fall of America. Because we will not do anything to keep it up. Because there are just too many people who are very blinded by the idea of 'we're ok, and we'll always be ok'.
"If my people,
who are called by My name, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their
sin, and heal their land." - 2 Chronicles 7:14
...I think I might write about that verse sometime...

| Well... it's been a while. About 2 months since any post. You might
think that you were missing out on a whole lot in my life. Well....
here's what happened over the summer.
I didn't get a summer co-op so there was some issue with money and such
since i didn't have an income. Thankfully, my parents are great and
helped me out with rent and such.
My niece, Abigail, turned one, and can stand(but not walk) on her own. So cute! :)
Guitar Hero is the greatest game ever made. So fun, hopefully Guitar hero 2 will have a Metallica song or two.
Tom turned 21 and we went to McGregor's to enjoy some brew. We each had
about half a glass before letting Sarah and Justin finish 'em off. And
don't get the country fried steak there. It sucks.
Tom more recently got some Austrian beer from Beers of the World, I
actually had an entire bottle. It wasn't that bad. Had enough flavor to
drown out the alcohol taste more than most beers I've had.
...hmmm that about covers it. I've also spent plenty of time on WoW and
over at 39 watching movies and Firefly.(well, a couple episodes) Other
than that, this summer has been very uneventful and boring.
So why update?
I got a co-op at Thomson-West. I start September 5. I am rather ecstatic.
That's all for now, toodles.

| Ah, 'fond' memories. Back when I lived at home with my parents(think
late 80s to late 90s), my brother Sean would work out on his Nordic
Track, or later on his treadmill, and blast his music really loud. The
bulk of it was Metallica, especially in the 80s. Annoyed the heck out
of everybody. He worked out in the basement, you could hea the music on
the second floor of the house, even when the door to the basement was
closed.
So why does this matter? A while back Sean got Guitar Hero for the PS2
for his birthday. It's great, you have a guitar controller, and you
have to 'play' the songs(hold down the right fret button while
strumming the guitar). It sounds silly at first, but so does DDR and
Karaoke Revolution, until you start playing, then you realize just how
awesome it is. A number of the songs in the game are from the 80s metal
bands, some songs are actually older while others are newer. Of course,
none of them are terribly Christian. Actually, they aren't Christian at
all. Oh well. They're still cool musically, and fun to play.
So, why am I currently listening to Metallica? Because it was missing
from Guitar Hero. I don't much care for some of the lyrics or the
musicians, but the music is incredible. Of course, that's me, and I
like metal. But I really felt the absence of Metallica from Guitar
Hero, which is largely influenced by the 80s metal scene. Enter Sandman
would be so much fun to play on that game. I hope they get some for
Guitar Hero 2.
Good Christian metal alternatives:
Pillar(which is only semi-metal, but hard enough)
Tourniquet
You know, thinking back, Tourniquet was the only really good Christian
metal band I think ever heard. Hmmm... it'd be cool if some of their
music got into Guitar Hero, but not likely, after all, their songs are
all about loving God and sutff, and that just isn't what metal is
about... riiiiiight. Anbody know of some other good Christian metal bands?
and now... this has gone on entirely too long. So I'll end it here.
